Fire Prevention Week, October 6-12, 2013
October 6 – 12, 2013
is National Fire Prevention Week
Prevent Kitchen Fires
“Cooking is the number cause of home fires, and a significnat contributor to home fire deaths. From October 6 – 12, we’ll be highlighting the dangers of unattended cooking and risky kitchen habits.”
“Kitchen fires is one of the most common and difficult types of fires to suppress because people tend to panic. They tend to pour water but it will only make the fire bigger. Public awareness about kitchen fires is very important because it is a different type of fire that needs a different approach to extinguishment.”
If you would like to schedule a school visit or a station visit, please contact Station 1 and leave a message for WL Johnston.
