Weekly Call Summary December 27, 2015 – January 2, 2016

Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc. responded to the following calls between December 27, 2015 and January 2, 2016:

1 Call for smoke in the area with nothing found upon arrival

On January 3, 2016 at approximately 9:50am Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc. responded to a report of a structure fire on Phils Dr. Initial reports stated that all occupants were out of the structure. First arriving units found heavy fire coming from the rear of structure. It was confirmed that everyone had exited the structure, however one occupant was transported for evaluation of possible minor smoke inhalation. Units were on scene for just over two hours conducting fire suppression and overhaul operations. The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical in nature. Four engines, one tanker, one rescue, one medic unit, and 32 members responded to the call. AVFRS responded one engine and one tanker. Captain David Hamilton was in command.
