On February 17, 2018 GVFRS responded to a structure fire on White Oak Dr after heavy smoke was noted coming from the area. The first arriving units found a barn on fire that had partially collapsed. Units were on scene for just over two and a half hours conducting fire suppression and overhaul operations. There were no injuries on scene, and all animals made it out of the barn safely prior to fire department arrival. Four engines, one tanker, one rescue truck, one medic unit, and approximately twenty members responded to the fire. The cause has not been determined at this time. Chief JD Clements was in command.
