Gloucester Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Inc. responded to the following calls between December 8 and 14, 2013:
54 Medical Calls
1 Unattended Burn
7 Motor Vehicle Collisions
1 Fire Alarm
1 Smell of Gas in a Structure
1 Chimney Fire
1 Smoke Investigation
2 Structure Fires
On December 13, at approximately 2:40pm, GVFRS responded to a report of a shed on fire on Belroi Rd. Upon arrival heavy fire was found on the interior of an outbuilding containing fire wood and outdoor equipment. The cause of the fire is undetermined. There were no injuries on scene, and most of the contents of the outbuilding was lost. 2 engines, 1 medic unit, and approx 5 – 10 members responded.
Also on December 13, at approximately 9:20pm, GVFRS responded to Regency Dr for a report of a possible structure fire. The occupant of the residence stated that he noticed his freezer was on fire and the house was filling with smoke. Upon arrival the fire was found to be contained to the refrigerator. The cause appeared to be electrical in nature. There were no injuries on scene. 3 engines, 1 tanker, 1 medic unit, and 12 members responded.
