Weekly Call Summary February 18 – March 3, 2018

Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc responded to the following calls during the two week period between February 18 and March 3, 2018:

116 Medical Calls
19 Motor Vehicle Collisions
9 Brush Fires of various sizes
8 Calls for trees down
6 Calls for power lines down
5 Fire alarms
2 Burn complaints
2 Controlled nurms
2 Calls with nothing found on arrival
1 Mutual Aid to AVFR for a Structure fire
Multiple responses to AVFR for mutual aid to assist with the multiple brush fires in Guinea

Of the above calls, 25 calls were for storm damage as well as the multiple responses for mutual aid to Guinea.  These calls were all handled withing the 48 hours period of March 2 and 3, and were in addition to the regular daily call volume.  GVFRS is very fortunate to have the volunteers that make themselves available to help cover calls during storms and other weather events that create an increased call volume.  We thankfully only had one call where our response was slightly delayed due to a tree across the road, but we were able to respond another truck to help cover the call.
