Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc. responded to the following calls between January 4 and 10, 2015:
44 Medical Calls
4 Fire Alarms
5 Motor Vehicle Collisions
2 Chimney Fires
3 Public Assists
1 Brush fire
1 Structure Fire
On January 8, 2015 at approximately 12:10am Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc. responded to a report of a structure fire in the 5600 block of Pampa Rd. All occupants and their pets had exited the house prior to GVFRS arrival, and there were no injuries on scene. GVFRS responded four engines, one tanker, one ladder truck, one rescue truck, one medic unit, and approximately 30 members. Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue, as well as Lower King and Queen Volunteer Fire Department each responded with a tanker and personnel. GVFRS units remained on scene for approximately two and a half hours. Captain Jim Gilsinan was in command.
