Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc. responded to the following calls between January 17 and 23, 2016:
67 Medical Calls
1 Landing Zone
24 Motor Vehicle Collisions
6 Fire Alarms
2 Calls for Appliance Electrical Malfunctions
1 Chimney Fire
1 Vehicle Fire
1 Call with Nothing Found on Arrival
14 Medical in which fire apparatus responded to assist due to weather conditions
Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc. did see an increase in vehicle collisions due to the weather on Friday, January 22. Between approximately 12:50 pm and 1:50 pm, we responded to six motor vehicle collisions. In total, our units went to eleven motor vehicle collisions Friday afternoon and evening. While we did not see a large number of accidents with the snow Wednesday evening, Saturday, or Sunday we did have a few weather related accidents on those days as well.
