Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc. responded to the following call between January 24 and 30, 2016:
61 Medical Calls
1 Gas Leak
6 Motor Vehicle collisions
1 Fire Alarm
1 Mutual Aid to AVFR for a possible structure fire
5 Medical Assist
On February 1, 2016 at approximately 8:55am Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc. responded to a report of a structure fire on Driller Ln. The caller stated that there was a fire in the bedroom and that all occupants were out of the structure. Upon arrival of the first units the fire was found to be in the bedroom, and was extinguished before spreading any further. There was some smoke damage to the rest of the house, and damage was estimated to be approximately $3000. There were no injuries on scene. GVFRS responded one engine, one tanker, one rescue truck, one ambulance, and eleven members. AVFR responded with a tanker for mutual aid. Captain Joe Lenderman was in command.
