5 Motor Vehicle Collisions
2 Controlled Burns

2 Mutual Aid to AVFR
1 Unattended Burn
1 Structure Fire
On April 2, 2016 at approximately 8:45pm GVFRS units were dispatched for a possible structure fire in the area of Coles Landing and John Clayton Memorial Hwy. Upon arrival, units found the fire to be a shed burning at an address located on John Clayton. Contact was made with the property owners who stated the fire in the approximately 10×10 shed was intentional in an attempt to raze the old structure. A few GVFRS units and members remained on scene to assist the property owners in controlling and extinguishing the fire. Four engine responded initially. Lieutenant Steve Field was in command.
GVFRS would also like to remind Gloucester County residents that while the 4pm burn ban is over for this spring, it continues to be very windy. Please continue to be mindful of the weather as you make your plans to have a controlled burn. We strongly encourage citizens to refrain from burning when the wind is high.
