Gloucester Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Inc. ran the following calls:

On October 20, around 0400, GVFRS responded to a report of a structure fire on Old Concord Ln. The fire was reported to be in the bathroom and possibly already extinguished. Upon arrival it was found that the homeowner had extinguished the fire with water. It was determined that the fire started in a trash can in the bathroom. There was some fire damage isolated to the bathroom, however there was some smoke damage through out the residence. The homeowner was home at the time of the fire, and was alerted by her smoke detectors. There were no injuries. Two Engines and eight people responded. Assistant Chief Jon Williams was in command.
Also on October 20, around 1800, GVFRS responded to another possible strucure fire on Chestnut Fork Rd. Upon arrival it was found that the homeowners had used a fire extinguisher to put out a small fire in a cardboard box. The fire was contained to the box and it’s contents, which were located in a bathroom. There was no damage to the home. The homeowners were home at the time, and were alerted to the fire by smoke detectors. There were no injuries. Four engines, one ambulance, and 23 people responded. Steve Zeliff was in command.
