Weekly Call Summary, September 6 – 12, 2015

Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc. responded to the following calls between September 6 and 12, 2015:

Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc. at approximately 6:50pm responded to a report of a structure fire in the 15000 block of George Washington Memorial Hwy. Initial caller stated that there was a fire in the kitchen. Upon arrival of initial units found the fire had been extinguished by the resident using a fire extinguisher. GVFRS personnel checked for extension and conducted overhaul. Fire damage was limited to the kitchen, however there was smoke damage through out the first floor. There were no injuries on scene. GVFRS responded with four engines, one tanker, and approximately 20 members. Joe Lenderman was in command of the fire.
