Purpose
To establish a procedure for establishing and duties and responsibilities of the the line officers.
Procedure
Chief:
- The Chief shall be responsible for all fire and rescue operations, shall be incident command or sector officer at fire and/or rescue scenes as needed.
Assistant Chief, Fire
- Shall be responsible for the operations of their respective station. Shall assist the Chief in the performance of his duties.
- Shall work closely with the Rescue Captains and Fire Captains at their stations.
- Shall serve as incident command or sector officer at fire and/or rescue scenes as needed.
Assistant Chief, EMS
- Shall be responsible for all Rescue Squad operations, under the Chief’s command.
- Shall serve as incident command or sector officer at fire and/or rescue scenes as needed.
Fire Captains
- Shall assist the Fire Chief and Assistant Chiefs in the operations of their duties.
- Will assist the training officer with the training program.
- Shall be responsible for the “hands-on” operations at fire and/or rescue scenes as needed.
- Shall serve as incident command and/or sector officer as needed.
EMS Captains
- Shall be responsible for rescue operations at their respective stations, as directed by theAssistant Chief, EMS.
- Shall assist the Assistant Chief, EMS in the performance of his duties.
- Shall work closely with the Assistant Fire Chief to assure that station operations are carried out in a smooth and efficient manner.
- Shall serve as incident command or sector officer at fire and/or rescue scenes as needed
Chief Engineer
- Shall hold the rank of Captain.
- Shall be responsible for the proper maintenance and operation of all mechanical fire and rescue equipment.
- Shall assist the training officer in all pump and equipment operation training.
- Shall serve as incident command or sector officer at fire and/or rescue scenes as needed.
Fire Training officer
- Shall hold the rank of Captain.
- Shall be responsible for training all personnel within the company, in accordance with the standards established by the Chief, Assistant Chiefs and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Shall plan and conduct regular monthly training sessions and coordinate appropriate State training.
- Shall serve as incident command or sector officer.
EMS Training officer
- Shall hold the rank of Captain.
- Shall be responsible for training all personnel within the company, in accordance with the standards established by the Chief, Assistant Chiefs and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Shall plan and conduct regular monthly training sessions and coordinate appropriate State training.
- Shall serve as incident command or sector officer.
Fire Lieutenants
- Shall assist the Captain of Fire in the operations of their duties.
- Shall be responsible for the “hands-on” operations at fire and/or rescue scenes as needed.
- Shall serve as incident command or sector officer as needed.
EMS Lieutenants
- Shall assist the Captain of Rescue in the performance of his/her duties.
- Shall serve as incident command or sector officer at fire and/or rescue scenes as needed.
