The 24th Annual Rao R. Ivatury Symposium, Trauma: Best Practices in the New Frontier, is a multidisciplinary conference designed to inform attendees about current challenges in trauma care throughout the continuum and about current concepts and best practices across a range of environments, from critical care access hospitals in rural communities to advanced tertiary care centers in urban areas.
- Identify current best practices in trauma care for successful patient outcomes in blunt and penetrating trauma.
- Identify the importance of a team approach for successful trauma outcomes.
- Describe primary resuscitation differences in unique trauma populations (e.g., burn, peds).

Cancellation Policy
Registration fee, less a 15% non-refundable administrative fee, will be refunded only if written notice of cancellation is received via email to ceinfo@vcuhealth.org on or before May 28, 2024. There will be no refunds after that date.
Abstract Submission
Abstract submission from all disciplines involved in trauma care are encouraged, including physicians, nursing staff, and pre-hospital providers. Original research and quality/performance improvement projects are eligible for submission.

Submission Deadline for Abstracts: May 15, 2024
Notification of oral and posters winners: Week of May 19, 2024
Final presentation deadline: June 14, 2024
Instructions

- Submissions must be done using the form below with an attached word document containing the abstract.
- The presenting author should be listed first in the order of authors. All communications will be directed to the presenting author only.
- An individual may submit more than one abstract.
- All abstract and presentation content must be in compliance with copyright laws.
- The recommended format for abstract submission includes a clearly stated introduction, methods, results and conclusions.
- Poster presenters are expected to be registered participants of the symposium. Standard registration fees apply.
- The oral winners will need to present a 5-8 minute PowerPoint presentation which will then allow a couple of minutes for questions.
