Purpose
To follow state and federal laws consistent with our commitment to the safety of our well-being of our members, patients, and bystanders.
Policy
Per the direction of the Fire Chief, no weapons shall be carried on GVFRS vehicles. Only sworn law enforcement personnel, serving in that capacity and assisting GVFRS personnel, conducting an investigation, or otherwise functioning in a bona fide capacity of a law enforcement officer shall be exempt from this policy. Any GVFRS member found to be in violation of this policy shall be subject to disciplinary action by the Fire Chief and/or Board of Directors.
